<p>Take a look at the fantastic entries to our KS2 Easter Eggshibition!</p>

<p>Reception Class, Year 1 and Year 2 enjoyed an Easter egg decorating  completion. We had some amazing entrants and we all enjoyed looking at the fabulous eggs.</p>

<p>On Tuesday 2nd April, the choir and orchestra travelled to St Joseph&#8217;s retirement home to perform their Spring Concert of Disney pieces to the residents and staff. The children also chatted with the residents and received some lovely compliments for their performances. The staff at St Joseph&#8217;s presented each child with a crème egg as [&hellip;]</p>

The Choir and Orchestra, comprising of children from Year 3 -Year 6 performed songs from films including, &#8216;The Little Mermaid, &#8216;The Jungle Book,&#8217; &#8216;Tangled,&#8217; &#8216;Pete&#8217;s Dragon,&#8217; Moana&#8217;, and &#8216;Mary Poppins.&#8217; The Orchestra and Choir performed twice today, for parents and also for [&hellip;]</p>

<p>Year 2 visited The Shipley Art Gallery yesterday as part of our Art activities and our work about materials  in Science. &nbsp; We really enjoyed looking at their unusual collections and comparing them with the Laing Art Gallery. We looked at the items made from ceramics and fabrics. We drew some of the artefacts &nbsp; [&hellip;]</p>

<p>Year 2 met their penpals from Belsay Primary School today for the first time. This is part of a school Linking Project linking rural and city schools. The children have exchanged letters and postcards and today we met for the first time. We played lots of &#8216;Getting to know you games&#8217; We then split into [&hellip;]</p>

<p>We look forward to Friday afternoon in KS2 when we have our Art or Design and Technology lessons.  This afternoon was a hive of activity. Year 3 were constructing sculptures of the Angel of the North. Year 5 were painting murals in the style of Diego Rivera.  They were thinking about how a mural can [&hellip;]</p>

<p>Year 4  took part in the &#8216;Heritage Lottery Fund WW1 project from the 5th of November to the 14th of November 2018. The children gained a wealth of knowledge about World War 1 through various tasks,visits and visitors. Neil Tonge and Peter Hepplewhite were the fantastic historians who lead this project. <p>As part of our Design and Technology project this term, we designed a Christmas stocking.  We had to improve our sewing skills when joining the felt together and design/create an attractive scene on the outside.  Then we evaluated it to consider what we did well and what we would improve.
