<p>In their French lessons, Year 6 have been writing to their penpals in Paris with Madame Hewson. The letters are currently winging their way to Paris and we are excited to get our replies in the new year.</p>

<p>On Friday we enjoyed a fabulous story writing workshop at Live Tales, part of Live Theatre, We worked with a team of writers, illustrators, directors and playwrights to create our own story. <p>Rehearsals are well underway for St Lawrence’s KS2 Orchestra. We have been rehearsing since the end of October to bring some Christmas cheer through music over the festive period. We have not performed since Christmas 2019 so it feels very special to get back to rehearsing. Orchestra is bigger than ever this year, with children [&hellip;]</p>

<p>We have been using a new piece of technology in school this week &#8211; Now Press Play!Using a set of unique headphones and a iPad with a transmitter, the whole class are able to listen to, act out and take part in an &#8216;experience.&#8217; Year 3 ventured back in time to the Stone Age. We discussed Warner’s work, where he uses fruit and vegetables to make landscape pictures. We adapted his ideas with our own to make fruit and vegetable art inspired by our local landscapes and landmarks. We really [&hellip;]</p>

<p>Year 3 have been working so hard with their tables this half term. We have revised our 2s, 5s and 10s and started looking at our 3s. We have found division facts particularly challenging! In a recent test of these tables, children were able to earn stars on their own flower times tables tracker when [&hellip;]</p>

<p>Today we practised our right to vote by voting for our School Council Reps. We discussed what it means to live in a democratic society.Congratulations to our winners: Harley and Amelia!</p>

<p>Year 6 had an incredible 3 days in the glorious Lake District sunshine &#8211; challenging themselves with all sorts of different activities. The children were a real credit to their families and school with staff regularly being told by other walkers and adults that the youngsters were amazingly behaved and polite. We thought about how the river began at a source near the Cotswolds and ended in the North Sea. We also learnt about the famous bridges it passes under, such as London [&hellip;]</p>
