<p>Today we enjoyed another trip back to visit Mr Thompson at Broxfield farm. It was amazing to see how the farm has changed and developed through the seasons since our last visit in October. We enjoyed a tractor ride through a field of cows and then made magical woodland creatures in the forest in the [&hellip;]</p>

<p>Year 2 have been learning all about Australia in our Geography lessons this term. we have been comparing the Australian coastline with the North East coastline. We have learnt lots of facts about Australia and have enjoyed learning about this interesting country. We have even learnt to sing Waltzing Matilda! We found out about Australian [&hellip;]</p>

<p>Year 2 visited Wor Lotty yesterday. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; .We enjoyed  tasting lots of different kinds of fruits and vegetables. We looked at the plants which we had planted last time that we were at the allotment. &nbsp; We collected lots of ladybirds but we left them at the allotment at the end of the day! We also enjoyed wedding the paths in the allotment. We collected so many weeds! We are [&hellip;]</p>

<p>We had a creative morning workshop with an artist from the Laing Art Gallery. We worked closely with the artist; learning new artistic skills crucial to creating print inspired by Thomas Bewick’s designs. We took inspiration from African emblems, creating our own design and transferring it to make a stamp like print. These prints are [&hellip;]</p>

<p>Year 2 visited their penpals at Belsay School in Northumberland as part of our Geography curriculum this term. &nbsp; We had a fantastic day with our friends from Belsay and had an exciting time playing in their outdoor area. We made some advice jars to take back to school and some fish. What an amazing day, we can&#8217;t wait to meet up with our friends again very soon. &nbsp;</p>

<p>This term, Year 5 have been learning all about the Ancient Egyptians.  They lived in Egypt from 3100BC to 30BC, over 3000 years!  As part of our topic work, we visited the Great North Museum and took part in a workshop about the different jobs Ancient Egyptian people could have.  We learnt that there were [&hellip;]</p>

<p>Year 2 visited St Lawrence&#8217;s Park to help with the regeneration of St Lawrence&#8217;s Park in Byker. We helped to clear a large flower bed and we planted some seeds. We are looking forward to monitoring the growth of our seeds over the next few weeks.</p>

<p>Year 4 have been working closely with the Heritage Lottery Fund over the last few months. As a parting gift, they have kindly provided us with a huge selection of books related to World War One.  There is a fantastic mix of fiction and non-fiction to add to our new library stock.  Many thanks to [&hellip;]</p>

<p>Year 5 took part in the &#8216;Giving Nature a Home&#8217; workshop last week, provided by the RSPB.  The session involved exploring the different habitats around our school building and in the playground.  The session began with a talk about what makes an effective habitat for animals; we discussed availability of food, water and shelter as [&hellip;]</p>

<p>Today we had a wonderful trip to Beamish Museum! We were transported back in time to the Victorian era, as we dressed up as Victorian school children. We experienced a Victorian lesson where we had to work completely in silence! We visited some houses in the village and learnt about traditional rug and blanket making. [&hellip;]</p>
