<p>Reception class enjoyed learning about Lunar New Year and how it is celebrated in China. The children worked together to create their own lion mask and performed a dance to music outside. The class also enjoyed sharing some Chinese food and even used chopsticks to eat their noodles.</p>

<p>To mark Children&#8217;s Mental Health week, we celebrated, &#8216;Dress to Express&#8217; day in school. The children were given an opportunity to wear clothes to express their personalities. Some wore clothes they would wear every day, some dressed in fancy dress and we even had our very own Michael Jackson! In addition to this, they did [&hellip;]</p>

<p>Today we took part in a measurement carousel in class. We used our own rulers to think about measuring objects in our classroom. We also began thinking about the difference between, mm, cm and m. We worked on holding our rulers carefully so we could read our measurements accurately.</p>

<p>Today we got involved in an exciting science workshop with Technology Tom! We explored magnetism to fit in with our current topic. Tom demonstrated a few different experiments to us that showed just how powerful magnets are! These demonstrations included; a magnet fishing game, a compass demonstration and a demonstration which showed how magnets attract [&hellip;]</p>

<p>To introduce our new RE topic, Listening and Sharing (Eucharist), the children worked in groups to perform the story of ‘Stone Soup.’ We discussed the themes of the story and the advantages of listening and sharing.</p>

<p>Year 2 have been learning all about different genres of books during this half term. We enjoyed visiting our class and school Libraries and reading lots of different stories. We visited Church and looked at the different books that are used in Church. Father Shaun told us what all of the books are used for. [&hellip;]</p>

<p>Year 1 had a fabulous trip to the Rising Sun Country Park. We started our day looking at signs of Winter and Spring and then went on the do a mini-beast hunt. We put the mini beasts we found into special viewing pots and were careful to put the minibeasts back where we found them [&hellip;]</p>

<p>This week we have been looking at properties of 3D shapes and doubling and halving. We had lots of fun on Friday working with concrete and pictorial resources to revise these concepts and learn some new ones!</p>
