<p>This morning saw the return of the Mini-Vinnies Christmas Coffee morning, Organised by our Mini-Vinnies, this was a fantastic chance for friends of St Lawrence&#8217;s Parish to spend some time with the children. Mrs Garforth led the KS2 Choir and Orchestra in a wonderful concert of Christmas songs,  supported by Mr David Grant on the [&hellip;]</p>

<p>We had so much fun yesterday creating our own Stone Age Cave art. We looked at examples from real Stone Age caves and thought about the different art materials Stone Age people would have had to use, they definitely would of made use of anything they had! <p>Last Friday we started making our Angel of the North replicas. We chose our own materials from a choice of bases (kitchen roll tubes, empty water bottles) and used a range of materials including tissue paper, cellophane and cardboard and various shades of paint.</p>

<p>Reception class, Year 1 and Year 2 had a fabulous day in school yesterday; we worked in mixed groups to produce some Christmas master pieces. It was a wonderful day enjoyed by all. We all wore Christmas jumpers to get us into the spirit of Christmas! It was lovely seeing the older children helping their [&hellip;]</p>

<p>To celebrate finishing our class reader &#8216;The Butterfly Lion&#8217; by Michael Morpurgo, Year 4 made a butterfly lion of our own today. In the novel, the lion represents the friendship between Bertie, a boy who lives in Timbavati, South Africa, and a white lion cub he rescues twice, once from the veldt and once from [&hellip;]</p>

<p>We have changed our focal area into purple colours for advent. We have a kindness advent calendar and each child takes out a random act of kindness to try each day. We also all have a copy of the Cafod advent calendar which we are enjoying colouring in each day.</p>

This is to consolidate our knowledge when grouping and sharing before moving onto formal division next week. We grouped and shared lots of concrete objects such as toy dinosaurs, playing cards, counters and dominoes. We also looked [&hellip;]</p>
