<p>We created a whole school art display to celebrate Remembrance Day and brighten up the exterior of our school. Every child in school created their own poppy using a range of media and techniques. The Nursery children made collage poppies using assorted paper and pva glue, they also experienced print making for the first time [&hellip;]</p>

<p>In music this half term we have been finding out about the composer Alan Menken. We looked at his composition of Aladdin. Firstly we read the story of Aladdin. We then listened to the music and tried to imagine which part of the story the music would fit with. We sequenced the story in groups [&hellip;]</p>

<p>We have had a wonderful week in Year 3 raising awareness of Anti-Bullying Week through our whole school Friendship Week. We have two appointed Friendship Squad members who will help out anyone feeling lonely on the yard. We celebrated Odd Socks day on Monday by wearing odd socks, designing our own pair of odd socks [&hellip;]</p>

<p>As part of our art work focusing upon the artist, John Constable, we talked about our own school landscape and what we could see in the distance. We then went on to sketch the school landscape which included trees, buildings and fencing using light pencil strokes. &nbsp;</p>

<p>We selected leaves from our school environment and carefully applied different coloured paints with a paintbrush to the underside of the leaves. Pressing firmly, we printed the leaf revealing its shape and veins.</p>

<p>Year 2 have enjoyed working on a Literacy unit this week about poetry. We based a lot of our work around describing fireworks. We have been learning all about the power of using adjectives to describe nouns in the genre of Poetry, We wrote some fabulous poems about fireworks. We also learnt all about Acrostic [&hellip;]</p>

<p>Year 2 have been enjoying their Well Being Wednesday sessions. This week we read the Rainbow Fish. We talked about sharing our talents with each other. The children all made a fin and we made our own rainbow fish with lots of glitter! We designed our own rainbow fish. We enjoyed experimenting with paints.</p>

<p>Year 2 continue to work very hard whilst they are at home. This week the class were asked to complete some activities related to the celebration of 75th Anniversary of VE Day. The children made bunting to hang up in their houses and gardens. They also designed VE day menus for a VE celebration meal [&hellip;]</p>
