This is to consolidate our knowledge when grouping and sharing before moving onto formal division next week. <p>We have been continuing with our Year 3 key performance indicators in maths this week. This week we are revising time facts from Year 2. We matched up time facts cards, played minute past the hour dominoes and o’clock dice games.</p>

<p>In Year 3, we are continuing to look at our maths key performance indicators. This week, we have been making sure we are confident with recognise place value up to 9,999. We did this by using dominoes and dice and working in groups. We each selected a domino, or rolled dice, to make the biggest [&hellip;]</p>

<p>This week in Year 3 we have been looking at subtracting big numbers. Sometimes, we even have to borrow values from different columns when working with hundreds, tens and ones. To help us out, we have been using concrete resources and place value mats. This helps us to visualise our maths, it’s so much easier [&hellip;]</p>

<p>Y4 enjoyed our time out on the yard yesterday, practising our flexible parititioning skills with Base10 and chalk part-whole models.</p>

<p>We have been continuing with our weekly maths key performance indicators in Year 3. This week, we revised some more KPIs from Year 2, including counting forwards and backwards within 100. Some children were able to challenge themselves with numbers up to, and beyond, 1000! &nbsp;</p>

<p>In Year 3 we are started learning our 3 x table this week. In KS1, we learnt our 2s, 5s and 10s and so far have spent some time in Year 3 revising them and also their accompanying division facts. Today we began by counting in 3s on a number line, chanting the table, playing [&hellip;]</p>

<p>Today in Year 3 we have been revising some of the Year 2 Maths Key Performance Indicators (KPI&#8217;s), which are key maths skills we should have as we move into KS2. We had fun using dominoes to have a go at doubling and halving, choosing different dominoes, selecting the numbers they show and doubling or [&hellip;]</p>

<p>This week we have been revising our number bonds to 10, 20 and 100. We have been using a variety of concrete resources to remind ourselves of our learning from KS1. We particularly enjoyed using tens frames to find the difference when adding numbers together to make 10. We could then use this knowledge and [&hellip;]</p>

<p>Reception have been learning about patterns. They hunted for patterns in the outdoor area and found lots of repeating, stripes and shape patterns: We also looked closely at natural patterns in tree trunks and logs and created their own observational drawings as well as investigating patterns in honeycomb and representing the pattern using printing techniques. <p>Reception enjoyed learning about Easter which is a very special time in the Church&#8217;s calendar! They created repeating patterns on Easter eggs: The Easter egg hunt was lots of fun: The children and families created wonderful egg designs for the school competition: Look at the wonderful cards we made in the creative area for our [&hellip;]</p>

<p>On Wednesday Key Stage 1 took part in a practical maths morning about money. We played lots of games and did puzzles about money. We had lots of fun and we learnt a lot about money and about turn taking in games.</p>

<p>Today we got involved in an exciting science workshop with Technology Tom! We explored magnetism to fit in with our current topic. Tom demonstrated a few different experiments to us that showed just how powerful magnets are! These demonstrations included; a magnet fishing game, a compass demonstration and a demonstration which showed how magnets attract [&hellip;]</p>

<p>This week Nursery and Reception Class celebrated World Book Day by focusing on the story &#8216;The Smeds and The Smoos&#8217; by Julia Donaldson &amp; Axel Scheffler.   The Nursery children dressed up in blue like the Smoo characters in the story and the Reception children dressed in red like the Smeds. <p>Year 6 had a fantastic 1st day as part of a week-long project with IntoUniversity Newcastle East. The scheme &#8211; in partnership with Newcastle University and Northumbria University &#8211; is designed to give children a glimpse into life at Further Education.  Year 6 are following an engineering syllabus this week, which includes a trip to [&hellip;]</p>
