Caterpillars arrive Nursery
This week brought some very exciting news to nursery — our caterpillars have arrived! The children were full of curiosity as they gathered round to take a closer look. They were fascinated by their tiny movements and enjoyed talking about what they could see. We can’t wait to watch them grow and change over the next few weeks. The children are already asking lots of questions, and we’re looking forward to learning more together about the life cycle of a caterpillar.

Reception - Winter
What perfect timing! As we’ve been learning all about winter weather and the clothes we need to keep warm, the real winter chill arrived – and even brought snow! The children were thrilled to explore the snowy outdoors. They felt the crunch under their boots, noticed how cold the snow was, and shared brilliant ideas about why we wear coats, hats, scarves, and gloves in winter. Back inside, the creativity continued as the children made their own beautiful snow-themed pictures.

The children loved creating their own Kandinsky-style art using loose parts and even experimented with 3D art. It was fantastic to see them noticing shapes in their designs and talking about how circles and triangles can make beautiful patterns.

The children enjoyed weighing them and then used their observations to create beautiful paintings, thinking carefully about colour and detail. We also made our very own Harvest Crowns — they looked fantastic and the children wore them with pride! One of the most exciting parts of the
