<p>For the last two weeks, all of our KS1 and KS2 classes have been learning about poetry. They have written their own free verse poems and learnt how to perform poems using volume, rhythm, expression and actions. This afternoon, each class performed one of the poems and some children even read their own free verse [&hellip;]</p>

<p>Y4 enjoyed a fantastic Shipbuilding workshop as part of our Changing Jobs module in Humanities. We learned about some of the jobs that were common on the River Tyne 100 years ago, and tried our hands at being loftsmen, riveters and ship designers. <p>We were so excited to have our first workshop with our friend Charlotte at Seven Stories today. We played some games to get to know Charlotte and to think about our favourite books. Charlotte read a beautiful story called ‘Not Just a Book,’ by Jean Willis and Tony Ross. We then made our own pieces [&hellip;]</p>

<p>We are continuing with our Key Performance Indicators in maths this half term. Our objective this week is to be able to confidently add and subtract numbers up to 999. We revised setting out column methods, borrowing and carrying before trying some tasks which included snakes and ladders games, reasoning challenge cards and dice games. [&hellip;]</p>

<p>In Nurture Group this half term we are learning about maps. So far we have been looking at different types of maps, including Ordnance Survey maps and atlases. We have been drawing our own maps of the school grounds and hiding treasure for other teams to find. Today we started to learn how to use [&hellip;]</p>

<p>Today we worked in small groups to consolidate our knowledge when working with multiples of ten. We completed worded and reasoning problems and used practical resources to count in tens. We challenged ourselves to think about multiples of ten beyond 120.</p>
