<p>Reception have been learning about weight and capacity in maths. They have used lots of practical resources to explore and investigate. <p>Year 2 have been solving problems about Shape,  Multiplication and Division using lots of different practical manipulatives this week.</p>

<p>Year 3 have been working so hard with their tables this half term. We have revised our 2s, 5s and 10s and started looking at our 3s. We have found division facts particularly challenging! In a recent test of these tables, children were able to earn stars on their own flower times tables tracker when [&hellip;]</p>

<p>The Nursery children enjoyed their first educational visit to Jesmond Dene! We explored the area for signs of Autumn and collected leaves of different colour, shape and size.  The children were excited to have snack in the woods before visiting the animals in Pets Corner.  Even the bus journey was a highlight!  A wonderful morning [&hellip;]</p>

<p>In Maths this week we have been using some new vocabulary such as &#8216;greater than&#8217; and &#8216;less than&#8217;. We were also introduced to the &#8216;greater than&#8217; and &#8216;less than&#8217; signs as well as &#8216;equal to&#8217; and have worked hard all week with lots of practical activities. We have really impressed our teachers with our clever [&hellip;]</p>

<p>This week Reception have been exploring sorting and comparing amounts using the language of more and fewer. The children were also keen to practise their counting and subitising skills ( recognising how many without counting). Great Job Reception! Mrs Bickle and Mrs Heide</p>

<p>Last Term, our Nursery children enjoyed looking at Traditional Tale Stories.  We talked about the different characters and how each story has a beginning, middle and end.   We did lots of exciting activities linked to each story including making up our own characters,  choosing our own ending to the story and tasting yummy gingerbread men.  [&hellip;]</p>

<p>Today, nurture group were tasked with finding the oldest tree in the school grounds. A tree expands by roughly 2 cm a year, so we worked out that if we measured all around the tree trunk and divided the measurement by 2, we could work out the age of the tree. <p>Today in Maths, we had our final lesson about the properties of shape!  We thought about 3D representations and recapped the common 3D shapes.  We also spent time discussing the shape of the different faces, the number of edges and vertices for each shape!
