<p>Year 1 had a great time making fruit smoothies in DT! First, we created our own recipe by choosing the ingredients to go into our smoothie. Next, we prepared all of the ingredients to go into the smoothies. This involved carefully cutting fruits, squeezing lemons and limes, as well as measuring liquids. Then, we added [&hellip;]</p>

<p>All of the children took part in an assembly today from Newcastle Children&#8217;s Libraries today about their Summer Reading Challenge and the events happening in libraries across the city. The Summer Reading Challenge encourages children to be creative throughout the summer holidays – while keeping up their reading too, of course! Children will earn stickers [&hellip;]</p>

<p>Back in April, the school took part in &#8216;Earth Day&#8217; where we looked at the effects that plastic was having on our planet. Following this, Year 3 and Year 5 had a visit from Blyth Wildlife Rescue, who came to talk to us about the effects that plastic and other litter can have on our [&hellip;]</p>

<p>Year 2 had a wonderful trip to Seaton Delaval Hall. It was a fantastic opportunity for our children to visit a National Trust property. We all day outside in the grounds, spending the morning in the allotment. It was great to get our hands dirty as we did some gardening. We spent some time digging [&hellip;]</p>

<p>We have been observing plants as part of Science in Year 1. After looking closely at the plants around our school grounds, we decided to go foraging and made striking sculptures using leaves, grass, twigs, daisies and buttercups.</p>

<p>Before half term, Year 2 had a very exciting trip to the Laing Art Gallery. We finally got to meet our penpals from Belsay School. We met up with our penpals and did some activities in the gallery with them. This involved some circle time games and producing some art together. It was magical to [&hellip;]</p>
