<p>We are just completing our Y6 RE Topic which is called Vocation and Commitment. In pairs, we carried out research into the lives of people who answered God&#8217;s call in a special way and lived out their calling through their chosen vocation.  Then we used our speaking and listening skills to present our findings to [&hellip;]</p>

<p>Today Year 3 displayed excellent behaviour and respect during our Remembrance Service lead by Mrs Maxwell with music from Miss McDonnell. We also enjoyed making our own poppies this week which we decorated using oil pastels. They will be part of a whole school display! Miss O’Hare brought in a special painting of her great [&hellip;]</p>

The class has started to dive into legendary local author David Almond&#8217;s book &#8216;The Boy Who Climbed Into The Moon&#8217; with the help of the computer game. The Byker Wall has been constructed in Minecraft, along with a large [&hellip;]</p>

<p>Year 2 have enjoyed working on a Literacy unit this week about poetry. We based a lot of our work around describing fireworks. We have been learning all about the power of using adjectives to describe nouns in the genre of Poetry, We wrote some fabulous poems about fireworks. We also learnt all about Acrostic [&hellip;]</p>

<p>Today we looked at comic strips to learn about how onomatopoeia can be used to bring a piece of writing to life. We then acted out our own scenarios using onomatopoeia speech and effects bubbles – like we were living in our own cartoon or comic strip! Onomatopoeia are words that are also sounds eg. <p>This week in Year 2 we have been thinking about feelings. We have based our work around the book Ruby&#8217;s Worry by Tom Percival. <p>Since returning to school In September, the children in Year 1 have been talking a lot about themselves and how special they are in the world. They focused on the book, &#8216;Here We Are&#8217; by Oliver Jeffers and produced artwork and pieces of writing based upon the story. What a fabulous job they did!</p>
