Harvest Time in Reception

Year 1 - Paul Klee Art
This term in art, we have been learning how to create different style lines and how to connect them to make different shapes. Our end goal was to draw different shapes to create a portrait inspired by the artist Paul Klee. We started by finding the shapes in a picture of ourselves and outlining them with a pen. Then, we copied the shapes onto a blank page, creating an abstract portrait similar to the work of Paul Klee.

Year 1 - History visit
Year 1 had a visit from 'That History Bloke' who came in and worked with the children around Victorian's toys. Autumn Writing in Reception
This week, our Reception children truly impressed us with their phonics skills and lovely writing! As part of our autumn theme, the children explored seasonal objects like leaves, conkers, and pinecones, and used their phonics knowledge to identify and record the initial sounds of each one. Prehistoric Art in Year 3
Inspired by cave paintings from the Stone Age, Year 3 have enjoyed creating Prehistoric art. They began by drawing the outline of an animal using charcoal. Next, they created a Prehistoric palette by making paints out of natural materials such as grass, leaves, mud, tea, beetroot and raspberries. Finally, they used the palette to paint their animals.
