<p>Year 6 graduated from University on Friday after an amazing week learning about WWII. The pupils really grabbed the opportunity to find out what life is like as a student, touring Newcastle University campus as well as presenting their projects in a lecture theatre. Dozens of family members turned up to see the children receive [&hellip;]</p>

<p>We all enjoyed learning about Judaism this week in school. Each class studied a different area of Judaism; Early Years &#8211; Hannukkah  Year 1 &#8211; Abraham and Moses  Year 2 &#8211; Shabbat Year 3 &#8211; Synagogue  Year 4 &#8211; Torah  Year 5 &#8211; Passover  Year 6 &#8211; Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur We all then came [&hellip;]</p>

<p>Last half term, Year 5 Nurture Group went to Scotswood Community Garden to take part in Forest School sessions each week We learnt how to construct dens, how to tree climb safely, how to use sheath knives to whittle and we also cooked up some interesting recipes in the mud kitchen!!    .</p>

<p>Year 6 had another brilliant day with Into University. We looked at some artefacts from World War 2 and thought about what they might have been used for. We put ourselves in the shoes of evacuees and thought about what we would take with us in our suitcase. We displayed some excellent teamworking skills by [&hellip;]</p>

<p>The children ended their first half term on Friday with a fun PE session with Mr Stevenson. They played lots of Parachute games with lots of fun had by all!</p>

<p>As part of our Music lessons this half term, we have been listening to Jazz and Blues. We listened to Louis Armstrong&#8217;s &#8216;What a Wonderful World&#8217;. We thought about the lyrics, listened to his unusual voice and the instruments used. We then went on the create our own large-scale wonderful world pictures based on what [&hellip;]</p>

<p>Year 6 started a week-long project about WWII as part of a scheme to encourage youngsters in the area to think about attending university when they are older.The Into University organisation runs homework clubs and works closely with schools across the country showing pupils what they can gain from getting a degree.Year 6 looked at [&hellip;]</p>
