<p>We had a wonderful day out at Broxfield farm with Mr Thompson. We felt the wheat in the field, found worms in the ground, visited calves, bulls and cows in the field and ground wheat to make flour. The highlight of our day was making our very own scarecrow! <p>Yesterday Year 2 were asked to bring their favourite teddy to school. We enjoyed doing lots of activities with our teddy bears. We read our books to them; We did our LEXIA work with them; We did our PE lesson with them, they enjoyed flying on the parachute! In the afternoon we had a visit [&hellip;]</p>

<p>Today we had lots of fun producing our own collage in the style of contemporary British artist, Carl Warner. We discussed Warner’s work, where he uses fruit and vegetables to make landscape pictures. We adapted his ideas with our own to make fruit and vegetable art inspired by our local landscapes and landmarks. We really [&hellip;]</p>

<p>This week in Year 3 we have been looking at subtracting big numbers. Sometimes, we even have to borrow values from different columns when working with hundreds, tens and ones. To help us out, we have been using concrete resources and place value mats. This helps us to visualise our maths, it’s so much easier [&hellip;]</p>

<p>We had a wonderful morning exploring the natural world on our door step! We went on a nature trail around our yard and field. We worked in groups of three to search for signs of hedgehogs. We had a go at building our own hedgehog homes and looked for slime trails of slugs which are [&hellip;]</p>

<p>Year 2 have enjoyed a fabulous day today linking lots of areas of the curriculum together around the theme of Autumn. We started the day going for a nature walk around our school grounds and looking for signs of Autumn. We then came back to class and thought of lots of adjectives to describe Autumn. [&hellip;]</p>

<p>Y4 enjoyed our time out on the yard yesterday, practising our flexible parititioning skills with Base10 and chalk part-whole models.</p>

<p>We have been continuing with our weekly maths key performance indicators in Year 3. This week, we revised some more KPIs from Year 2, including counting forwards and backwards within 100. Some children were able to challenge themselves with numbers up to, and beyond, 1000! &nbsp;</p>

<p>In Year 3 we have been thinking Our Lady Mary. We have also been thinking about the Rosary and look forward to praying the Rosary later this month. To celebrate Mary, we copied out the Hail Mary in our best handwriting and decorated  a beautiful picture of Mary.</p>

<p>In class we discussed how hard it was for Jewish people when Hitler took power in Germany in 1933.  He blamed them for lots of the problems in the country such as unemployment and people were so desperate that they believed him.  In 1935 he introduced the Nuremburg Laws.  The two main laws were: Jewish [&hellip;]</p>

<p>In Year 3 we are started learning our 3 x table this week. In KS1, we learnt our 2s, 5s and 10s and so far have spent some time in Year 3 revising them and also their accompanying division facts. Today we began by counting in 3s on a number line, chanting the table, playing [&hellip;]</p>

<p>Today Year 2 invited parents to take part in  an art workshop as part of our art work this term on portraits. We learnt how to draw facial features and we drew self portraits.
