<p>Today we looked at the different types of books we have in our prayer area. We looked at hymn books, our children’s Bible and prayer books. We thought about books that are used in Mass. We have made our own books all about Jesus.</p>

<p>The Early Years Nativity was a huge success, well done everyone!</p>

<p>Early Years enjoyed visiting Seven Stories to watch live theatre. The children loved the show Snow White and the Seven Stories! &nbsp;</p>

<p>Today we role played the Gospel of Matthew 3:13-17 in Year 2, the story of Jesus’ baptism by John the Baptist. We also annotated art work representing the scripture, thinking about how the different people felt that day.</p>

<p>Since we returned to school after Christmas, we have been looking at Performance Poetry in Year 2. We have rehearsed, discussed an annotated a variety of performance poems. All children have had a chance to perform the poems in class, either in groups, solos or with a partner. It has been a different and challenging [&hellip;]</p>

<p>We had a liturgy in Year 2 today. We are thinking about Preparations, particularly how we prepare during Advent for Christmas. We Gathered by quietly bringing our own special pictures of Gold, Frankincense and Myrhh to the focal point. We thought about how this is such a special and important time of year in the [&hellip;]</p>

<p>Today Year 2 made some beautiful Advent Wreaths. We thought about our school Advent Wreath which we see in Collective Worship on a Monday. Mrs Robson lights a candle each week. We coloured our candles in either pink for Joy, or purple for Love, Peace and Hope. Our Jesus candle was left white, but some [&hellip;]</p>

<p>KS1 have spent this half term learning and rehearsing the Christmas play, ‘A Miracle In Town.’ Every child had a role, either with lines to learn, a dance to perform and songs to sing. Children took part in all aspects of rehearsing and learned many valuable skills, particularly with regards to listening and teamwork. Today [&hellip;]</p>

<p>&nbsp; This term we have been learning the Glockenspiel. We have learnt the notes C, D, E, F and G. We have been using these notes in the songs we have been learning. We have been learning about note lengths and recognising them in different pieces of music. Year 4 have been learning how to [&hellip;]</p>

<p>&nbsp; This term we have been learning about jazz music. We have learnt about typical characteristics in Jazz such as repetition, call and response and improvisation. Within some of the songs we have been learning, there has been some improvisation sections. We have particularly enjoyed Gershwin’s, ‘I’ve Got Rhythm’, listening to different versions of the [&hellip;]</p>

<p>This term we have been learning the Glockenspiel. We have learnt the notes D, E and F. We have also been learning how to read music and recognizing notes on a stave. Year 3 have also been learning about rests and when to be silent in music. We have learnt minims and crotchets and the [&hellip;]</p>

<p>&nbsp; As a school, our parents and carers helped us to raise nearly £300 through the ASDA Cashpot for Schools. Our school council were given the task of deciding how the money would be spent. The asked each class and made a list of new equipment for the yard. This week, the order of new [&hellip;]</p>
