<p>We have been learning about different types of celebrations in RE. Reception loved planning and role-playing the wedding for two class toys Mr and Mrs Scarecrow.</p>

<p>During our liturgy today, we were thinking about special books. There are thousands and thousands of books in the world but this week we will be thinking about a special collection of 73 books which make the Bible! We Gathered by quietly bringing our own special books to our Focal Point. We will think about why books [&hellip;]</p>

<p>We held a special assembly this year to launch the Jubilee Year in school. Pope Francis has given this Jubilee the theme &#8216;Pilgrims of Hope&#8217; &#8211; we are asked to walk with Jesus to help make the world a better place. <p>We have been learning about the Continents of the world in our Geography topic this have term. We put our knowledge to the test this week by playing a matching card game in pairs. We had to see if we could match the continent maps to their name, it was lots of fun!</p>

<p>This week in History Year 1 have enjoyed learning about coal mining in the North East and the invention of the Miner’s Safety Lamp by George Stephenson. <p>&nbsp; Reception class have enjoyed learning about the changes in winter. They used talk and art to share their understanding of the weather and types of clothes you need to stay warm. They were also introduced to the concept of hibernation and impressed us with their fantastic writing skills and ability to explain what hibernation [&hellip;]</p>
